Baby Blue

Mario

Pearl
Someone picked the right fence to dump the six of us over
because we have been well taken care of. We are Border Collie
dominant in looks but we probably have some Black Lab in us too.
We are up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and have
been spayed and neutered. Now all we have to do is find loving
forever homes. Won’t you consider adopting one of us? Here are
our stories:
Baby Blue - I am told I’m the pick of the litter because of my
beautiful blue eyes but I’ve tried to remain humble. I get along
with all my siblings. I’m not a bully but I won’t be pushed
around either. I’m very sweet and loving and have a quiet
demeanor.
Mario - I’m all boy! I’ve got quite a voice (my namesake is
Mario Lanza for you old enough to know who he was) but I mostly
use it to get attention. I love to be loved and am very
exuberant. I get along well with all my siblings. You may have
noticed my distinctive eyes. One is blue and one is black. I
think they enhance my already amazing good looks.
Pearl - I am so very sweet and mild mannered, probably the most
demure of the group. Once I thought I was the alpha puppy but
now I tend to get bullied a bit. You might have noticed the
healed-over skinned spot over my eye which may or may not have
resulted from an altercation with one of my siblings. I’m no
snitch, I’m just saying... A home where I am the only dog
may be a better placement for me. If you bring me into your
home, I guarantee you won’t be sorry.
Anyone interested in adopting one of these puppies and
continuing the love and care they have been given can contact
FOSTER.
There is an adoption fee of $100 for each of these puppies. All
fees will be donated equally to Border Collie Rescue Texas,
Shelter Buddies, Friends of the Animals, Tonya Griffith’s Animal
Rescue, Inc. and A Different Breed. A guarantee will be required
that an adopted dog will not be allowed to run outside of an
enclosed property, and also that the dog will be returned to
their foster parents if for any reason the dog cannot be cared
for properly. To adopt, please submit an
Adoption Application

Allegra
Introducing Superdog—aka Allegra. This little girl is a true
survivor! She was rescued from the local animal shelter on
February 14, 2009. She soon came down with a case of distemper.
Allegra wasn’t ready to give up though! She and her foster
family fought hard and Allegra came through the infection and is
now a healthy, happy girl! The only lasting effect is a slight
twitch in her back leg, but that doesn’t slow her down! Check
out this
video of the awesome Allegra!
Allegra is sweet and gentle. She loves people, dogs, and even
gets along well with cats. She is extremely gentle with her
3-pound Chihuahua foster sister. Allegra rides well in a car.
Her favorite car trip ends at the stables where she cries with
excitement to get out because she loves the horses. Allegra
enjoys the outdoors—particularly when there’s a squirrel to play
chase with. Basic commands such as sit and come are a breeze for
Allegra. She walks nicely on a leash and even does well when her
foster mom is on rollerblades. Allegra’s confidence continues to
build, but she occasionally feels timid in new situations.
Allegra is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed, and
on heartworm preventative. She is house trained and sleeps in
her own bed in the living room of her foster home. If you have a
place in your heart and home for Allegra, contact her
FOSTER
and fill out an
Adoption Application.
An adoption fee applies and a home visit will be done.

Sully
Hi my name is Sully. My foster family took me in after some nice
folks found me wandering their town. I am the happiest boy you
would ever meet. I live to play with other dogs, my family and
also dog toys!!! Though I am still young and very energetic, I
also love to settle in with my family and chew on bones. When no
one will play with me I can easily entertain myself …squeaky
toys are the best!!!
I am learning my manners and know sit, paw, spin, stay and down.
I walk great on a leash and ride well in the car. I play awesome
at the dog park, cause I quickly become the center of attention
by getting all the dogs to play chase with me. But I am always
the fastest, so I am the leader!! I like catching balls and
catching my treats, but chasing balls, well, that’s not as much
fun.
I am crate trained, housebroken, altered, up to date on all my
vaccinations, and also have a micro-chip. I like kitties and
might chase them if they run, but I would never hurt one. I also
love kids and know how to sit for them to pet me. I am finishing
my heartworm treatment and will be ready to find a permanent
family of my own in just a short time.
If you promise to love and care for me for the rest of my life,
then contact my
FOSTER.
I have an adoption fee of $200,
Adoption Application
will need to be completed, and my foster mom will come visit
your house to be sure it’s the best place for me. I can’t wait
to meet my new family!!!

Tilly
Hello new Owners,
No need to look any further - here I am - Tilly. I am a 2 year
old - hmmm good question... definitely Border Collie, some (my
foster parents) say I have also some Setter in me - but there is
absolutely no agreement on this topic.
I was turned into the local shelter by my previous owner but was
immediately rescued and put in care with my foster parents. In
my foster home I have a Border Collie brother and 2 human kids
(13 and 15), all of which I get along with perfectly. Every now
and then I do not like to be touched at my back legs, which I
think is a subconscious reaction to things I have experienced in
the past but have thankfully mostly forgotten. I am also good at
protecting the home--I will let you know immediately if
something does not check out.
I have a beautiful coat, a very athletic build and am just a
natural Beauty (is me saying this vain?). Another remainder from
my past is a problem that I'm developing with my hips, which
cannot be treated yet but will require surgery in the future. In
the meantime I am good and take my medicine to slow down the
deterioration (even though it tastes kind of yucky).
The best part of my day is a 2-hour walk in the woods. It would
be great if I could find a home where I can continue to have
this kind of workout (a big yard would be great too), the rest
of the day I'm really easy though and relaxed. I play with the
ball without being obnoxious, but I don't like to swim. I love
riding in the car, I sleep in my crate, and am housebroken. I'm
also current on my shots, on heartworm preventative, and spayed.
For a small adoption fee of $200.00, an approved
Adoption Application
and a house visit I could be yours. I can’t wait to meet my
forever family - you can find out more about me from my
FOSTER.
I am being fostered in the North Houston area.

Fletch
If I sit still enough, my foster dad says he could mistake me
for a stuffed animal! I can strike a stunning pose, but true to
my Border Collie roots, I don’t stay still for long. Hi there,
my name is Fletcher. Fun should be my middle name, because I’m
the life of the party. I love to run and play and be where the
action is.
I was rescued from the local animal shelter around Thanksgiving
of 2008. I immediately made myself at home with my foster dad. I
get along well with all my foster siblings—dog and cat! My
hobbies include playing at home and playing at the dog park. I
sometimes like to play ball, too. I know basic commands such as
sit, come, down, and leave it. I could use some practice with
walking on a leash as I try to pull my human along if I see
something that I want to sniff. I am crate trained and house
trained as well. I am a healthy boy now, although I was
heartworm positive when I was rescued. I went through treatment
and am now heartworm free and on monthly preventative. I am also
neutered, microchipped, and current on all shots.
I love my life with my foster dad, but I am ready for a home and
family of my own. I’ m a big strapping guy, so I should go to a
home with children over the age of 10. I get along well with my
feline siblings at my foster home, but I do like to chase them
sometimes. A home with a scaredy cat is not the best place for
me.
If you are fun loving and want to share your life with a fun
loving dog, I’m the guy for you! Contact my
FOSTER
if you’d like to know more about me. My foster dad says an
adoption fee of $200.00 and an approved
Adoption Application
are required to adopt me. A home visit will also be done.

Oreo
Oreo is a handsome Border Collie mix. His current family was
told that he is a Border Collie/Bernese Mountain Dog mix.
Whatever he is, he is a large guy with lots of love! He weighs
about 70 lbs and needs to lose some more to be in top shape.
Oreo currently shares his home with another older male Border
Collie and a female Heeler mix. Oreo has gotten increasingly
more bullyish to the male dog in the home and that is why they
are looking for a new home for Oreo. Despite their efforts, Oreo
will stalk, steal toys and food and just plain intimidates the
older dog. For the sake of peace in the home as well as for
their older dog, Oreo's family has come to the heartwrenching
decision to find him a new home.
Oreo is well traveled, gets along great with the female dog and
people of all sizes and has been through obedience training. He
has received excellent medical care and is used to being inside.
His coat has been shaved due to the Texas heat but he will have
a rough coat when it's fully grown out.
Oreo is housebroken and would make a great companion dog for an
active family. He will need to be walked and exercised regularly
to help him continue to lose some weight and keep him a happy
dog. A refresher obedience class would also be beneficial.
If you feel that Oreo would be a match for your family, please
EMAIL
to begin the adoption process. There will be an adoption fee and
a home visit done as well as references checked.

Mac
Howdy! My name is Mac. I'm a young, happy boy, just over a year
old. I am deaf but don't let that turn you off! Ideally I will
be adopted to a home where I will have a brother or sister whose
lead I can follow since I can't hear. I am very smart and know
some hand signals and am very trainable.
I am full of beans and love to play play play. I get along great
with other doggies and with kids. I am a bit rambunctious so I
will do best with kids over 8. I am fully vetted and ready to
go.
Don't you want to meet me and see if I am the one for your
family? Applications can be found on our
WEBSITE or you may
send a message to
Amy
Mac's adoption donation is $150. We are accepting applications
from the Dallas area and surrounding cities.

Zeka
Zeka is a lovely young lady who's believed to be a Border
Collie/Greyhound mix. She's sleek and graceful and has the
intelligence that most Border Collies are known for. Zeka is
still a young dog learning the wise ways of the world so will
need a home that will supervise her carefully and put her
intelligence and athleticism to good use.
Zeka is housebroken, accustomed to a doggy door and crate
trained. Zeka currently lives several other dogs of all sizes in
her foster home and gets along with all of them fabulously. She
would do well to have another dog to run and play with.
Zeka would probably also make a great agility or jogging
partner.
An adoption fee and an approved
Adoption Application
are required for adoption. All references will be checked and
a home visit will be done.
Zeka is currently located in Wichita Falls but is willing to
relocate in order to find the perfect forever home. For more
information and to begin the adoption process please contact her
FOSTER.

Bosco
Bosco is a wonderful, mostly black border collie. He was bought
by a lady in our town about 3 years ago. She passed on and her
family didn't want the dog. I tried to care for him but I don't
have the time to spend with him. I am now retired and I travel
quite a bit. I can't take Bosco with me so I have to make
arrangements. He is very affectionate, adaptable and intelligent.
He is a healthy boy with a good coat. He has been neutered and
is current with all his shots. He is also housebroken. Bosco is
a good very smart boy devoted to staying home. A good watch dog.
He could benefit from training because he is excitable. Whenever
I have company, he meets the guests and does well with them. He
does jump up on them but he has never bitten anyone.
An adoption fee of $125.00 and an approved
Adoption Application
are required for adoption. All references will be checked and a
home visit may be done.
If you are looking for an active and sweet companion like Bosco,
please contact his
FOSTER.
